The former Chairman, Senate Committee on Education, Senator Uche Chukwumerije has died at the age of 75 years after battling lung cancer.
The one time information minister under the Babangida regime is said to have passed on today at a Turkish hospital in Abuja..Until his demise, he was a representing Abia North Senatorial District under the PDP platform..

“He was a democratic icon and an outstanding party-man who remained committed to the ideology of the PDP and the visions of the founding fathers.
