The French football administrator won his third four-year term as head of the European governing unopposed in an election.
“I am proud to be your team-mate, proud to be the captain of this winning team and proud of our achievements,” Platini told the Uefa Congress in Austrian capital Vienna.
“And I am excited to be taking on the challenges that await us over the next four years. I know that I can count on you. And you know that you can count on me.”
Michel Platini was first elected in 2007 and his re-election sees him continue in his position as Fifa vice-president for four more years.
The former France international and Ballon d’Or winner decided not to stand against Sepp Blatter in the May 29 congress last year. He has however made it clear that he does not support the Swiss’ bid for a fifth tenure as head of football’s governing body.
His acceptance speech added: “I do want to say that we love Fifa deeply, and it’s precisely because we love and respect Fifa that we want it to be strong. We are only demanding about the people and institutions we care about.
“We want a Fifa that is respectable and respected since Fifa is and always will be football’s supreme authority, the sport’s ultimate governing body.
Addressing the other five confederations, he said: “Certain people are trying to turn us against each other and isolate us and call us arrogant and selfish Europeans- but don’t believe everything you hear.
“We know we are in a privileged position and we will work for the good of the 209 national associations and the good of Fifa as well.
“Whatever the results of May 29, that’s why we are going to continue to work together.”
